U.S. High School Program
The US High School Program is the backbone of Weiming America. With options from one year of study in a U.S. high school to a full four-year high school career, students come to the U.S. for more than just academic reasons. Students attending the program aspire to 100% immersion in order to take advantage of opportunities for language development, academic and cultural growth. As students adjust to their new academic and living environments, Weiming America is there with a full range of support to help guide students toward the best and brightest future possibilities.

Housing Accomodations
Student housing varies by school. Most students stay with American host families, some students at schools in southeast Michigan live in Weiming’s fully staffed Learning Center, and some of our partner schools operate their own dormitories where students live on campus.

Weiming Student Coordinators
Every student in the Weiming America High School Program is assigned a bilingual Weiming International Student Coordinator (ISC). This Weiming ISC works closely with the school, the student, the host family, and the parents, monitoring the students’ academics and cultural acclimation. They follow up with the student on any issues that may arise, facilitating communication and keeping contact with the natural parents.

Weiming America goes to great lengths to assist students
through the college application process, including: arranging college visits,
college counseling, essay coaching, taking students to college fairs, and
walking both students and parents through the process.

Weiming America offers a variety of online tutoring and test preparation options with bilingual tutors for students in need of extra academic support.

Activities
Throughout the year Weiming America offers students in Southeast Michigan opportunities to join in a wide variety of activities from recreational outings like boating, laser tag or trips to the Michigan Renaissance Festival, to cultural events, sporting events, volunteer activities, and even out of state trips to see more of the U.S.A.
